Broken or stripped out bolts? Make repairs quickly and accurately!

Can Tap™ is the best way to remove and replace broken and stripped out bolts on airport runway light bases. With our patent-pending designed tool, bolts can be drilled out with the included left hand turn drill bit perfectly every time. The Can Tap™ tool aligns with the existing bolt holes and provides a secure guide to drill out or chase/clean the threads in the light base, saving time and money by cutting down on the guesswork of manually drilling out bolts and eliminating drill bit “walking.”

Screw Extracter Chase Threads

1. Remove the next two bolts adjacent to the broken bolt.

2. Align Can Tap™ over the two removed bolt holes and screw in the threaded guide bolts so the open guide end is positioned over the broken bolt. Insert the 9/32” slip bushing into the open guide end.

3. Drill out the broken bolt with the 9/32” left hand drill bit through the slip bushing.

4. Remove bolt. Bolt may come out as the left hand drill bit starts to drill into the bolt.

2. Align Can Tap™ over the two removed bolt holes and screw in the threaded guide bolts so the open guide end is positioned over the broken bolt. Insert the 5/16” slip bushing into the open guide end

3. Drill out the broken bolt with the 5/16” left hand drill bit through the slip bushing

4. Remove the 5/16” slip bushing. Install the 3/8” bushing on the open guide end

5. Use the 3/8”–16 tap to clean the threads
